Answers for distributors, designers and contractors

MOQ, samples, certifications, lead times, where we produce and how to maintain woven vinyl surfaces.

Technical notes: the detail behind these answers — construction and backings, cold-welded seams, impact noise and sound absorption, colour and roll-to-roll variation, fire classification, ageing and fastness data, and compliance screening.

How did the company start, and where are you based?

We started in 1998 making upholstery fabric, and in 2002 we began making woven vinyl fabric, at first for wallcovering. Floormats came next, for home retailers in the United States, and in 2009 we moved into flooring, supplying floors for projects such as the Australian Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo. Our office is in Hangzhou, China (A301 - 307, Meidu Plaza, 789 Moganshan Road, Gongshu District, 310011), and our production base is in Zhejiang, where yarn, weaving, coating, backing, finishing and testing all happen.

Where are you based and where do you produce?

Our office is in Hangzhou, China: A301 - 307, Meidu Plaza, 789 Moganshan Road, Gongshu District, 310011. Our production base is in Zhejiang, China, where yarn, weaving, coating, backing, finishing and testing all happen. We have been making woven vinyl since 2002.

What product categories do you make?

Five lines, all in woven vinyl: wall to wall flooring in rolls; modular carpet tiles, including an acoustic version; wallcovering; floormats, runners and area rugs under texlymat®; and upholstery for furniture and walls. We also supply decorative and acoustic wall panels, on a PET acoustic sheet or a GMT (glass-mat reinforced thermoplastic) backing.

Who do you sell to?

Distributors, architects, interior designers and flooring contractors. Their projects sit in hospitality, offices, healthcare, education, retail and residential interiors. We work with agents and with distributors who carry stock, and we are open to new partners in markets we do not yet cover.

Where do you sell, and where do you have agents?

We export to more than 35 countries and regions, mainly in Europe, Southeast Asia and South America, with sales also in the Middle East and parts of Asia. Agents and distributors cover the European Union, South America, the Middle East, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

What warranty do you offer?

Warranty runs by product line. Woven vinyl flooring: five years on wear, texture and appearance, and three years on colourfastness, from the date of purchase. Floormats and rugs: two years from the ship date. Upholstery and wallcovering: one year from the ship date. Cover is for the original purchaser and is not transferable. Wear from abuse, heavy mechanical traffic, chemicals or contamination is excluded, and flooring is not warranted outdoors in full sunlight. Warranty claims are made in writing, and our remedy is repair or replacement, not labour. Where stock is held for a long time before installation, the warranty runs from the ship date rather than the completion date.

How is the material packed and shipped?

Rolls are natural lengths: carpet runs 15–25 m per roll, and wallcovering and upholstery fabric the same, with cut-to-length orders as the exception. Rolls ship loose as standard, or on pallets if you prefer; because lengths are natural, rolls per pallet vary.

Container loads: around 3,500 m² of rolled carpet in a 20 ft container and 6,500 m² in a 40 ft; wallcovering and fabric roughly 15,000 m² and 25,000 m² — estimates, not measured loads.

Marks carry order number, article, roll number, product type, batch number and MADE IN CHINA, unless a customer specifies otherwise.

What are your trade terms and payment terms?

FOB Shanghai is our standard term, and we avoid EXW where we can. CIF is available on request.

Payment is by T/T and follows the order value: below USD 5,000 we ask for 100% in advance, and larger orders are usually 30% in advance with 70% against the bill of lading copy. A 50/50 split is also used. Air freight is 100% in advance.

Currency is normally USD. We quote in RMB for some Hong Kong and Thailand enquiries, and in EUR for some European customers.

Which fire classification applies to which product?

Fire classification is quoted per product, not per fabric, because the backing is part of the build. Acoustic modular carpet rates Bfl-s1, d0, and wall to wall flooring and floormats rate Cfl-s1, d0, both to EN 13501-1. Rolled goods sit one class below the tiles. Upholstery is Class 1 or A to ASTM E84-98 and B2 (D-s2, d0) to GB 8624. Certificates are on the certifications page, and the test detail is in the technical notes.

Do you provide technical data sheets, BIM or CAD files?

Technical data sheets are published on this website for download, per product line rather than per colourway, and they do not travel with the shipment as standard. We do not supply BIM or CAD blocks. Data sheets are updated when a new test is run or a product changes, so the version on the site is the current one.

How long does the product last, and can it be repaired or replaced?

Order 5–10% extra material for cutting waste, trims and future repairs; the figure is an experienced range rather than a specification. Keep the surplus from the same production run, because a patch from the same batch is very hard to see.

Small damaged areas are cut out and replaced with a spare piece. On a welded wall to wall floor the seam is re-cut and re-welded; on modular carpet the tile is lifted and swapped. Detailed step-by-step methods follow the installation guide for the construction concerned. Expected service life is covered by the warranty terms, not repeated here.

Does the product contain flame retardants, phthalates or formaldehyde?

See the fire classification and compliance answers above — this question duplicates them. The compliance figures (phthalates to REACH Annex XVII 51&52, formaldehyde to EN 717-2, plus REACH, RoHS, AZO and PCP screening) are in the specification tables on each product page and in the technical notes.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Stock items have no minimum order quantity, so any quantity can be ordered; on very small quantities we add a small handling charge. Custom production has a minimum that depends on the collection and the specification, because the looms are set up for the run. Send us the collection, the colour and the quantity you need and we will quote per project.

How do I get samples?

Sample books and A4 swatches are available to qualified distributors and specifiers; samples are free of charge, with the courier at your cost (freight collect). Tell us which product lines, collections or colourways you are working with and we will send the right book. For a project, we can also send individual swatches of the colourways you are considering.

What certifications and documents come with an order?

Flooring carries CE marking to EN 14041 (certificate No. 156), and wallcovering is documented to EN 15102 + A1 (certificate No. 157). Fire performance is classified to EN 13501-1, and products are REACH compliant, with SVHC screening by SGS (report NGBEC2100793807 A01). Every order ships with those certificates and the technical data sheet for the product line, and each roll carries a batch number for traceability. Reports are listed on the certifications page.

What documentation comes with an order?

Every order ships with the documentation a specifier needs for the file: CE certificates, EN 13501-1 fire classification, REACH (SGS report NGBEC2100793807 A01), plus the technical data sheet for the product line. Each roll carries a batch number for traceability. Documents are listed on the certifications page.

Can you design to a brief, or produce from our sample?

Both. We design and produce to a designer’s brief, and we produce from a sample or a colour you send. Colourways, weave patterns and widths are developed in-house at our own production base, and most of what we make starts from a brief. We make samples for approval before an order runs, and we develop over 20 new patterns a month.

What is the typical lead time?

Stock items can ship in as little as 2–3 weeks. Custom production typically takes 4–6 weeks after the samples are approved, depending on quantity and specification. Production runs at our own base in Zhejiang, and shipping documents are issued from Hangzhou.

Can your products be used outdoors?

texlymat® runners are UV-stabilised and made for in-and-outdoor use; the woven vinyl surface can be hosed off and left to dry. Wallcovering, wall to wall flooring and acoustic tiles are specified for interiors, where the same wipe-clean surface is the point.

How do I clean and maintain the products?

Regular vacuuming or mopping is enough. Stubborn marks come off with a damp cloth, and no waxing or specialist treatment is needed. The surface is woven vinyl, so it wipes clean like vinyl rather than needing carpet cleaning equipment. Care differs slightly by line: mats and runners are rinsed and dried flat, wall and upholstery surfaces are wiped rather than washed. Care notes by line.

Which backing should we choose?

It depends where the material is going. A PET non-woven backing is used for walls. A 1 mm vinyl cushion backing is used for furniture veneering and soft-wall work, where the foam gives a little cushion under the fabric. The woven face is the same on both.

How are the seams finished on wall to wall flooring?

Rolls are 200 cm wide, so most rooms need at least one seam. Seams must be cold-welded: a liquid cold weld is run into the joint and sets hard, welding the woven face and the PVC backing together at the seam, so it sits flat and stays closed under traffic instead of opening. We plan the laying layout with you before installation, so crosscut seams fall outside the main sight lines, and cold welding glue can be supplied with the order on request.

How much noise does the acoustic modular carpet cut?

The tiles have a felt backing that takes the edge off impact noise. Impact noise is footfall, trolleys and chair castors; it is not a sound absorption rating, and the tiles are not sold as sound-absorbing panels. Sound absorption measures αw 0.05, not classified, to EN ISO 354. The work is done by a fibreglass reinforced PVC backing with acoustic felt, and tiles are die-cut, so a single piece can be replaced after damage. How these figures were measured.

Will the colour vary from roll to roll?

Yes, and it is characteristic of the material rather than a defect. Two-tone yarn and our own weave give each roll its own organic marks and quiet tonal variation, and our specification sheet states that variations in texture and colour are inherent to a product that simulates natural materials. For a single project, order the whole area from one production run so the tones sit together. More on colour and variation.

Where do the colours come from?

The colours are man-made, and they are made to imitate the natural world, not taken from it. Four yarns do the work:

  • Two-tone yarn for the grain of natural plants.
  • Metallic colour yarn for the colours of metal and mineral.
  • Fluorescent yarn for the translucent sky in sunlight.
  • Translucent yarn for running water and glacier ice.

Colour is solution-dyed, so it runs through the yarn rather than sitting on the surface. The colourways we hold are on the collections page.

How does an order run, from first enquiry to delivery?

Six steps, with the same people on them from the first email:

  1. Enquiry. Tell us the application, the quantity in mind and any colour or weave reference.
  2. Development. We propose a construction and, where needed, develop a weave or colour.
  3. Sampling. Samples are made to order for approval.
  4. Production. The order runs at our own production base in Zhejiang.
  5. Inspection and documentation. Third-party inspection is welcome, through SGS, BV or your own agent, and rolls are batch-labelled and documented before dispatch.
  6. Shipping and after-sales. Documents are issued from Hangzhou, and we stay with the order after delivery.

The full wording also sits on the ordering & trade terms page.

Can we inspect the goods before shipment?

Yes. Third-party inspection is welcome, whether through SGS, BV or your own agent, and it can be arranged before dispatch. Every roll carries a batch number so it can be traced back to production, and the certificates and test data ship with the order.

What can you make for us, and where are the limits?

We make woven vinyl with a high-tenacity polyester core as standard, or a fibreglass core where a wider application is needed, in custom weave, colour and width, and we bring out over 20 new patterns a month.

Custom orders start at 1,000 m² per colour. Widths run to 2 m, and sampling takes 20–30 days depending on the season. Stock items carry no minimum order. We turn down four kinds of order: small quantities of a non-stock item and custom work whose lead time cannot be met (for both we suggest a stock colourway), prices far below our cost, and orders that ask us to lower weight or thickness while still meeting the published specification.

Who handles my order, and who do I contact if something goes wrong?

Each step has a named team behind it:

  • Quotations and order coordination — sales and export team, 10 people.
  • Technical confirmation (construction, width, colour) — design and development.
  • Quality and inspection — quality team, to written specification.
  • Delivery and documents — sales and export; documents issued from Hangzhou.

If something is wrong after delivery, contact the sales and export colleague who handled your order, quoting the batch number. We acknowledge within 1 working day, assess within 3 working days, and close the case within 10 working days of receiving photos or a sample.

Contact details and the enquiry form are on the contact page.

Are you looking for distributors and agents?
